Shaping an overlaid graphics image

When you have placed the image on the canvas, you can move it, crop it, and resize (scale) it to fit the purpose.

First choose the Select Graphics Object mode by clicking on the button on the Course Edit Tools toolbar.
Click on the image to select it - a selected image is indicated by corner "handles" and side "handles".

You can now

Move the image by dragging it with the mouse.
Move the image by using the arrow keys Each step is 0.1 mm. If you need more precise placing, press Ctrl or Shift while moving. Each step is then 0.05 mm.
Resize (scale) the image by dragging the corner points.
Crop the image by dragging the side points.

If you need to cover parts of the image, you can use a Mask Area

Note that the top left corner of the image is a "fixpoint". When you resize the image, the top left corner remains at the same location on the canvas.

Mask Area

A Mask Area is a graphics object that can be used to cover the underlying map, or an underlying graphics object. You create a Mask Area with the Mask Area tool, and then draw the outline of the mask area with the mouse. You can configure the color of a mask area, and you can cut a hole in a mask area.
