Why I cannot create a new sysmbol

The "new Sysmbol" function was hidden, such that I cannot create a new sysmbol.
My version is 8.2.8
Why is that?

In order to facilitate keeping symbol file changes you have made, so that these changes are not overwritten by a standard symbol file when Condes is updated, and to prevent problems with Windows Vista and Windows 7 protection of the Program Files folder, the symbols file in the program folder can no longer be edited.

So, in order to create a new symbol, you need to first use the menu Symbol / Use my own symbol file... After that has been selected, you can create new symbols and alter existing ones.

I downloaded your software and watch the helpful videos. I started a course and selected Start and Finish points and want to start putting legs into the course. The "Insert a control into a course leg" icon is greyed out and I cannot select it.

What do I need to do to be able to put legs into a course?

are you in control or Course editing mode?

If you start a new course then it will automatically use the S and F you have defined and *should* have that button in a non-grey (active) state
