Change map scale

I have a ready course planning with an ocad map with 10k scale. However the latest map file given to me today is in 7500. I tried to change map file but then all controls are misplaced. How can I change from 10000 scale map file to 7500?

Hi Jens,

If the map file dimensions change so that the controls no longer match on top of the map file, unfortunately you need to drag the controls back in place.

However, there is a solution. You CAN keep the existing 1:10000 map on Canvas 1, then assign the new 1:7500 map to Canvas 2 (use the Canvas / Map menu). This would automatically scale the control coordinates for Canvas 2. You may have to use the "move map" function to mvoe the map in place if the coordinates of the "new" map file aren't just a simple re-scaling of the "old" map.

One other alternative, if you have access to OCAD, is to export the new map file in the old scale, i.e. open the new 1:7,500 map file in OCAD, "scale it" to 1:10,000 (there is a function in OCAD to do that), and use the re-scaled file.
