supported map files (png)?

as I can see currently there are only two types of 'bitmap' files supported: jpg and bmp.
will the png format be supported also in an upcoming version?

sample map A4, 300dpi
.png -> 1.4MB file size
.jpg -> 3.5MB file size (quality 80%)
.bmp ->25.0MB file siez

the jpeg file wasn't recognized by CONDES (..does not use RGB colors.. )

I'll find out if it is possible to add support for the png format.
